What is Disk Golf
Basically it's a game played with a Frisbee or a disc that is much like golf. You have a tee and you try to get your disk into the chain target which is the hole, in the fewest number of throws. Pretty simple right. Sounds simple but it is harder that it sounds and it is fun on a beautiful day walking the course with friends. You should try it out.

Monterey Spring Running and Racing
Spring is one of my favorite times of year. We are starting to break out of the winter doldrums and into warm weather days. So you can actually spend some of your time running in the daylight instead of the normal winter routine of either early in the morning in the dark or in the evening after work in the dark. As the days get longer their will be more and more time to schedule your runs during the daylight hours. If you have been keeping up you fitness over winter now is the time to step it up because  the Monterey Spring Racing season is around the corner.
Running Groups
Wednesday Night Laundry Runners-
The Wednesday Night Laundry Runners are a loose knit group with a good pretty laid back attitude basically it works like this you show up on Wednesday night at the Pacific High School Track and meet up and go for a six to eight mile run. All paces are welcome then afterwards everyone will probably go out for pizza and a beer. See what I mean about laid back it's a pretty cool group. They also do weekly runs on Saturdays as well at Toro Park which are longer distance and more hills if that's what you are training for. So see you Wednesday night.
Fleet Feet Sports
Fleet Feet Sports has a meetup group for runs. They usually meet at the Lovers Point in Pacific Grove every Saturday at 9:00 am for a fun run or walk this group is usually attended pretty regularly by a core group then by several people just visiting from out of town as well.
Either of these groups are very accepting of outsiders and will take you into their club for a day and let you run with them or if you are going to be around for a few weeks or a few months go ahead and join. Many people regularly vacation here and they come to the group when they come into town and we don't see them again until they return. So it's kind of nice to know you have a run scheduled when you are coming into town. So check out one of these groups next time you visit.
Spring Races in Monterey
The Mud Run- The Big Sur Mud Run is what the title says it's just that a Muddy Dirty Wet Messy Blast. One of the races I actually look forward too all year.  It's happening on March 24, 2012 at California State University Monterey Bay. This one is filling up so if you want to register do it soon.
The Big Sur International Marathon- If you are going to only do one Marathon do Big Sur it is so beautiful and when else do you actually get to stop on hwy 1 and just look at the magical scenery of Big Sur spread out before you while someone plays the piano in the background. Yes, that guy will be back again how awesome is that? The details The Big Sur International Marathon April 29, 2012 at 6:45 am.  More info
Just Run- Just Run is a running program for kids developed here in Monterey but it's more than a running program they also put on races for kids. The big one is the day before the Big Sur International Marathon Saturday April 28, 2012 8 am at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove. So if you have a little one bring them out to their own race then you can take them to the beach or walk around town afterward.
These are some of my favorite races so if you are a runner check them out the marathon is world class and I'm sure you know that all ready the mud run is just really a fun day and the kids races leave your kids grinning ear to ear with a big medal hanging from their neck just like mom or dad got at the marathon.

Bluefin Monterey

Bluefin Billiards Monterey
Bluefin Monterey is much more than just a place to shoot a game of pool. They have a little bit of everything here. From your typical pool hall fare of lots of nice tables covered in smooth green felt with blue chalk on the side and the clack of cues hitting freshly racked balls to your normal happy hour type business. That's what you would expect at your local pool hall. But this is the Bluefin it's not your normal pool hall. First of all they are located smack in the middle of Cannery Row which is near all the hotels, and restaurants and clubs you want to see and be seen in. But they have everything going on at the fin. From Salsa Night to Swing Night to Karaoke night you can come on down and show off to your friends your dancing or singing skills or just have a good time and shoot a few games of pool. While they make fools of themselves with the karaoke.  Bluefin also has regular pool tournaments going on see their schedule of events I'm sure you will find something that interests you and your friends.
